Many airlines offer frequent flier benefits that help travelers enjoy the journey to their destination. New offerings from United Airlines are changing this, however, as the carrier recently teamed up with Mercedes-Benz USA to provide auto advantages to its preferred customers.

Members of United's MileagePlus Premier club will now be able to receive incentives when buying or leasing a 2013 or 2014 Mercedes-Benz vehicle. Not only can they cash in on up to $5,000 in incentives, but participants who purchase a new vehicle between now and Sept. 3 will also get 25,000 bonus miles to use with United.

"United and Mercedes are two great brands," said Tom O'Toole, the airline's senior vice president of marketing and loyalty, as well as the president of MileagePlus. "We are pleased to join together to offer a valuable new benefit to our MileagePlus Premier members, United's best customers."

Frequent fliers can start taking advantage of these bonuses by checking out the offers on the United website. There they can browse through a range of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, learning more about their vehicle maintenance, fuel economy, special features and more. Once they select the car of their choice, drivers can validate their MileagePlus membership and cash in on the specials.
