The ugliest cars of the year

Some automobiles border on works of art, perfectly blending sleek and stylish together into one crisp package. Other models turn heads for a different reason, causing onlookers to simply ask "what were they thinking?"

Forbes pulled no punches when putting together their list of the ugliest cars of the year, calling out the designers who were behind some of the more questionable styling decisions this year. The Mercedes-Benz R-Class is a great example. Mercedes may make some of the most beautiful cars in the world, but slapping their logo on the front of this bulky, minivan-esque crossover didn't do them any favors. In fact, several automakers had trouble with awkward-looking crossovers, with the Honda Crosstour, Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet, Lincoln MKT and GMC Terrain all making the list.

Small cars tend to be a bit cuter, such as the Mini Cooper. But even Mini can overdo it sometimes. Their attempt at a sports car, the Mini Coupe, looks more like an oversized Hot Wheels toy than an actual car.

Even if you have an ugly car, that's no reason to abuse it by not taking care of it. Regular oil changes and things like radiator flush & fills can keep your car on the road - or at least until you can swap it for something more stylish.
