The new Ford Mustang is the boss

March 1, 2011 12:00 AM

Today the term "boss" no longer simply means employer - it can also be used as an adjective meaning "cool" or "hardcore," or as the name of a Ford Mustang model.

The 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 could use all those descriptions. It owns you from the moment you press the gas pedal to the floor. It's engine is the Don Corleone of machines and it looks... put simply, like the coolest beast you've ever seen.

As MotorTrend points out, who believed the Ford Mustang could go any further than the 2011 Mustang GT? "Boy, were we wrong," says the auto critics.

Under the hood is a 5.0-liter engine "au natural" with no supercharger or any extra power. The result is "a free-flowing, high-revving screamer," gushes MT.

The exterior style is "uniquely Boss" with minor changes to the front fascia and grille. Available colors include Kona Blue Metallic, Yellow Blaze Tri-Coat Metallic and Race Red.

Buyers who want the Laguna Seca edition, themed on the raceway in California, can order it with Black or Silver paint with, a red Boss C-strip and a red roof.

Now that's Boss.
