The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro may just be the new year's best convertible, or at least, the most improved, reports Motor Trend.
According to the auto magazine, cutting the roof off of the Chevy Camaro worked wonders on a cramped car that was quickly going out of style. "It looks better, sounds better, and is a better car to drive, all of which is directly attributable to the new hat," says Motor Trend.
Drivers will notice a great improvement in visibility in the front and rear, despite a rather small mirror looking backwards thanks to smaller bars on the sides of the windshield as well as the retractable roof.
The handling is the same as the old Camaro coupé, which is nothing to rave about, but won't make drivers cringe when they make a sharp turn.
Backseat passengers will love the quarter windows that go down, a rarity in the world of convertibles.
For 25 years, the Ford Mustang has bested Chevrolet in convertible sales, but in 2010, the latter finally beat out the Detroit giant. With the début of an even better open-top car for Chevy, the timing couldn't be any better.
