Steve McQueen has cemented himself in American culture as one of Hollywood's sexiest men. Balancing masculinity with sensitivity, he was loved by men and women alike. McQueen rose from a challenging start to one of the most famous actors and race-car drivers in the world. On August 17 and 18 in Monterey, California, fans of McQueen can make a go for one of several cars linked to this American idol.

Some of the coveted vehicles available for auction are the 1968 Ford GT40 Gulf/Mirage Lightweight Racing Car, leased for film productions in 1970, and a 1956 Fiat Series 306/s Grand Prix Transporter, according to SlashGear.com. This vehicle was used by two race teams during its lifetime, including Carol Shelby's and Lance Reventlow's teams. The 1953 Hudson Hornet Sedan is also available. There is also the rare 1956 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta 14-louver 'Tour de France' used in the 1966 film The Love Bug.

Pedigree and history make some vehicles the most expensive vehicles in history. McQueen's cars are among the most coveted and expensive available. As with all vehicles purchased, a thorough car tune up is needed to be sure the vehicle is road ready.
