Saab to unveil lots of new toys at Geneva Motor Show

Saab plans to release its concept for a new vehicle that will show the direction of the automaker's futuristic designs at the upcoming 2011 Geneva Motor Show beginning March 3.

"The concept´s sleek visual execution introduces styling themes drawn from Saab´s unique Scandinavian and aircraft-inspired design heritage," read a statement from the automaker's newsroom. "Cutting-edge technologies include all wheel drive with an electrically powered rear axle and a ground-breaking car communications platform."

The 2012 9-5 SportCombi, a wagon modeled after the 9-5 sedan, will also be unveiled and is expected to be a massive hit in Europe. The five-door car will serve as an alternative to the four-door sedan.

Also making its debut is the Saab 9-3 Griffin range, which comes with fuel-efficient engines that produce 180 horsepower.

Lastly, the sporty Saab 9-3 Convertible will celebrate the first anniversary of Saab's independence with a unique Amber Orange metallic paint finished Saab 9-3 convertible. It comes with the enhancements featured in the updated Griffin range and other special customizations. Only 366 examples of the Independence Edition will be produced.
