An upcoming auction in California is set to feature some auto options that should have car fans salivating. Auctions America is hosting a sale from Aug. 1 to 3, and one of the premier items at the event will be a 1960 300SL Roadster that once belonged to television icon Robert Stack.

The vehicle was originally purchased by actor Desi Arnaz as a gift for Stack in honor of his win at the Emmy Awards. Very little auto repair has been done to the car, which still has its original leather interior and hardtop. After spending 50 years in private ownership, it's certainly a must-see at the auction.

"The 300SL Roadster's celebrity provenance and stunning good looks make it the perfect match to our California auction," said Shelby Myers, a car specialist at Auctions America. "This leading consignment, coupled with exclusive NBC Sports Network live coverage, promise to make the sale a debut not to be missed."

Stack's Roadster is just one of more than 400 automobiles that will go on the auction block at this summer sale. Other hot ticket items include a 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB, a 1968 Porsche 911 and a 1994 Jaguar XJ220 Supercar.
