Range Rover's glitzy London debut

London was the place to be for car lovers last Friday night, as Land Rover rolled out the red carpet for a gala to debut the new 2013 Range Rover.

Taking place at the Royal Ballet School at Richmond Park, the new model premiered in dramatic fashion. Flashing lights and intricate sets created an exciting and star-studded atmosphere. Auto Trader Magazine reported that U.K. celebrities such as royal Zara Phillips, Olympians Victoria Pendleton and Greg Rutherford and several English rugby players were in attendance.

The glamour extends to the striking exterior of the Range Rover, which is just one of the many changes that Land Rover implemented.

According to Motor Authority, the 2013 model has some vast improvements over its predecessors. It weighs almost 700 pounds less than the current model, which can translate into improved gas mileage, better handling and less of a need for vehicle maintenance. A revamped design also increases interior space and streamlines many of the extra luxury features.

This upscale new car will cost you, as the starting price is expected to hover around $110,000. It might be a bit more manageable to tackle that overdue car repair than trying to cruise around like the celebrities do - at least for now.
