Ram Truck joins 'Man of Steel' efforts

Superman has been a staple of American culture for decades, and he's soaring into movie theaters around the U.S. June 14 when "Man of Steel" makes its long-awaited debut. The film will have the support of one major automaker, as Ram Truck has teamed up with Warner Bros. to promote the movie and the Ram 1500.

"Ram celebrates those who dare to be great and never back down from a challenge," said Reid Bigland, president and CEO of Ram Truck. "This is the essence of Superman and also embodies our Ram truck buyers, who believe in hard work, integrity and standing up for what is right."

The collaboration starts with a 30-second commercial featuring scenes from the movie and shots of the Ram truck. The manufacturer also created a special edition of the truck, complete with colors and logos from the "Man of Steel" film, which will be on display at several auto shows this summer before being auctioned off for charity.

Ram's parent company, The Chrysler Group, even provided the film with vintage trucks and other vehicles for several scenes. There's no word on if the vehicles needed subsequent auto repair or if Superman managed to save the day, so fans will have to wait until the movie's premiere to see the cars in action.
