Ram to build sports-inspired trucks

Ram Truck is once again partnering with a professional sports team. The brand successfully introduced a limited edition, Detroit Red Wings-inspired Ram 1500 last year, and it has decided to continue the relationship with the NHL powerhouse.

As one of hockey's - and the country's - most successful franchises, the Detroit Red Wings inspire thousands of sports fans. Now, when these spectators come to watch a game at the team's Joe Louis Arena, they'll be greeted with giant Ram Truck displays, murals of the team and the automobile and a few other promotions.

"The hard work, fighting spirit and determination exhibited by the Detroit Red Wings embraces the values shared not only by Ram Truck but also by the brand's dedicated customers," said Mike Dragojevic, director of the Great Lakes Business Center. "We are pleased to once again be named the 'Official Truck of the Red Wings' and build upon the partnership for the 2012-13 hockey season."

According to Motor Trend, Ram previously issued a hockey-centric model that featured special decals and badges throughout, as well as Red Wings logos embroidered on the vehicle's headrests. The updated automobile package will likely have some similar aspects, and Ram is trying to appeal to more drivers and fans by keeping the limited edition's auto repair upgrades to a reasonable price.
