Oregon's Cascade Lakes Highway will be closed for winter soon

There is a less-traveled road in Oregon called Cascade Lakes Highway, which attracts vacationers and thrill-seekers alike. Forbes reports that there are roads around the highway where drivers can go a bit faster than normal, and there is also golfing, shopping and skiing on Mount Bachelor.

As the name of the road suggests, there are also a few lakes where people can swim during warmer months. However, the road and the entire area are closed in the winter, so time is running out to drive down Cascade Lakes Highway.

Before you set out for central Oregon, you would be wise to make sure your vehicle is running well. Cascade Lakes Highway, since it is a bit off the beaten path, is not an ideal place for your vehicle to break down, and you don't want to spend your road trip sitting in an auto repair shop.

So, before you head to Lava or Elk Lakes, leave some time to check brakes, get an oil change and have a certified mechanic make sure everything is running smoothly.
