Most automakers have already launched their 2012 model year vehicles, so it's time to start looking ahead to next year, when the 2013 models will begin hitting dealerships. USA Today recently profiled some of the bigger releases scheduled for next year so that buyers know what to look for.
Although currently under wraps, Dodge has a compact car in the works that is said to exceed 40 MPGs on the highway. This will be the first vehicle to use Chrysler styling and features on a Fiat platform, so it's a big release for the company. The vehicle has no name yet, but is rumored to be called the "Hornet."
Scion also has a big release on the horizon, a vehicle it developed in conjunction with Subaru known as the FR-S. This model has been in the works for some time, and many budget buyers are already salivating. The vehicle is said to be performance-based, offering horsepower and torque at a low price.
There are also major revamps scheduled for popular models like the Honda Accord, Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Malibu.
Having the latest model is great, but it means nothing if you don't keep up with your auto maintenance. Be sure you pay attention to how many miles you put on your car, and schedule appropriate appointments for brake service and oil changes.
