Lexus teamed up with Discovery Channel to create a new app that shows users a unique perspective on the world. The program, called Winged Planet Plus, lets individuals see the wonders of the world from a bird's eye view.
Winged Planet Plus is a program that was made to go along with the Discovery Channel special Winged Planet, which premieres this weekend and features two hours of television content. Lexus put engines and tires in their rearview mirror with this partnership, which focuses instead on bringing viewers up close to the environment.
"We are incredibly proud to partner with Lexus on such a groundbreaking, immersive event as Winged Planet," said Brent Spitzer, vice president of digital advertising sales at Discovery. "Through Lexus' innovative partnership, we will give viewers an unprecedented opportunity to experience the majesty and awe of Winged Planet, while creating a highly receptive environment for consumers to receive Lexus' quality brand messages."
The app, television program and Discovery's website will all feature Lexus advertising. The automaker will also sponsor several quizzes, contests and other interactive experiences. According to Variety, Discovery attached cameras to birds throughout the world, so the audience can enjoy the one-of-a-kind entertainment offered by Lexus and Discovery, immersing themselves in unprecedented views.
