While many drivers emphasize their personal safety when searching for their next ride, the prospect of making sure a beloved pet is secure can often be overlooked. To combat this problem, Edmunds.com compiled a list of the 10 best vehicles for pet safety, and named the Kia Soul as the best car for furry companions.
Choosing the right car for both people and pets can go a long way toward maintaining a safe and efficient vehicle. According to MSN, only 16 percent of drivers use a restraint for the pets when they have the animals in the car, and more than 20 percent say they often take their hands off the wheel to keep their animals in place throughout the drive. This is unsafe for everyone in the car as well as other people on the roads, but some select models are ideal for drivers and their animal friends.
