When it comes to the auto industry, luxury vehicles aren't always the most powerful. In many cases, what drivers are paying for when they buy a high-end model is an overall comfortable and smooth ride. Recent years have seen luxury features migrate to lower-priced vehicles, and in many cases these cars can give the high-end models a run for their money.

Kelley Blue Book recently highlighted the "Most Comfortable Cars Under $30,000," choosing 10 vehicles that feel like luxury rides without the big price tag. Whether it's high-end features or simply a well-tuned suspension that can handle all the bumps on the road, these cars are a cut above the rest when it comes to a smooth ride.

Domestic automakers dominated the list, taking six of the ten spots. General Motors did particularly well, earning praise for the Chevrolet Malibu, Cruze, Buick Regal and Verano. Foreign automakers also got on the list with the Toyota Camry, Honda Odyssey and Volkswagen Passat. However, the top spot went to the Chrysler 300, a large sedan that has all the look and feel of a luxury vehicle without the big pricetag.

Drivers can ensure a smoother ride by playing close attention to their auto maintenance. Those who care for their cars will regularly put on new tires and take care of other mechanical issues to give themselves the smoothest ride possible.
