Jeff Dunham joins SEMA project

Comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham has joined up with Chrysler to design and build a special Challenger SRT8. Dunham has long been a car enthusiast and Mopar fan, so Dodge honored him with a custom vehicle.

Dubbed Project Ultraviolet, the efforts begin with a Dodge Challenger built to show off new technology and a new engine from the automaker. Once the vehicle has undergone its tune up, the model will be revealed at a SEMA car show in Las Vegas.

SEMA, or Specialty Equipment Market Association, hosts a car show in Sin City each year. This year's event is taking place in early November, so Chrysler fans can expect to see Dunham's new car on display. The six-speed SRT8 will be just one of the many vehicles the automaker is expected to showcase at the event.

Webisodes will track the development of the project, AutoBlog reports. The first has already been released, with more to follow as progress on the car and event continues. With the build itself expected to last about six weeks, the finished product should be ready for a big reveal by the end of the month.
