Cars.com recently conducted a contest to see which midsize SUV could stand out above the rest. The website tested several vehicles as part of its 2013 Midsize SUV Challenge, which judged the automobiles based on driving, special features and other capabilities.

Vehicles included in the test were the 2013 Ford Edge, 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport,2014 Kia Sorento, 2013 Nissan Murano, 2013 Toyota Venza and the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Each automobile was subjected to 200 miles of driving on different types of roads, as well as a day of family testing, where a large group looked at the comfort, features and cargo space.

"After extensive testing, the Jeep Grand Cherokee took the top spot in the Cars.com/USA Today Midsize SUV Challenge, thanks to its luxurious interior, impressive multimedia system and overall driving capability," said Patrick Olsen, editor-in-chief of Cars.com. "Jeep Grand Cherokee has long been considered a true, off-roading SUV, and thanks to some serious refinement, today's incarnation of the Grand Cherokee edges out the other, very worthy, midsize SUV options available to shoppers."

The Jeep Grand Cherokee also made waves with drivers thanks to its easy vehicle maintenance and resiliency, which limits the need for auto repair
