Cars.com, USA Today and MotorWeek recently pitted seven different three-row SUVs and cross-overs against one another to determine which is the most family-friendly among them. The vehicles were tested for fuel economy, ride quality, comfort and family-oriented features, and the Honda Pilot was the victor of the $37,000 SUV Shootout.

"The Honda Pilot won for its great mixture of comfort, roominess, features and efficiency," said Patrick Olsen, Cars.com editor-in-chief. "It is the perfect SUV for buyers who want to comfortably haul the entire family and all of their gear."

Not only is the Honda Pilot a fun choice for families, but it is also a safe vehicle. The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety rated the midsize SUV good - the highest rating - for both front and side-impact testing.

The Pilot is equipped with anti-lock brakes, which increase safety when stopping on slick surfaces and give drivers better stability and control. A tire pressure monitoring system comes standard as well, which can warn drivers when the air pressure is getting low or when they will be needing a tire alignment.
