Heisman winners join up for Nissan campaign

The latest Nissan commercials have less to do with the actual cars and more to do with the drivers. During the 2012-2013 football season, fans will be treated to six new automobile commercials from the manufacturer that include some talented stars.

The commercials feature a variety of Nissan cars being driven by Heisman Trophy winners.  The Heisman Trophy is awarded every year to the top player in college football, and past recipients such as Herschel Walker, Matt Leinart and the most recent winner, Robert Griffin III, are all spotted in the Nissan commercials. Also making a special appearance is actor Sean Astin, who starred as the famous Notre Dame underdog in the film "Rudy." AOL's AutoBlog compiled all of the commercials, which have just begun airing during NFL games.

Nissan entered into a partnership with the Heisman Trophy Trust at the beginning of 2012, extending a relationship that dates back to 2005. As part of the agreement, the carmaker will participate in several charitable missions that the Trust spearheads, as well as tours, contests and other events.

While it's unknown if the football stars are as good at car repair and maintenance as they are with the pigskin, at least they provide some entertaining commercials this football season.
