Ford has racked up a lot of accolades recently, and now it can add one more honor to the list. A panel of 18 female automotive experts from Women's World recognized the Ford Fiesta as its 2013 Car of the Year.

Most of the experts evaluating the Fiesta cited its well-rounded features. Not only is it sleek and stylish, but it is fuel-efficient, technologically advanced and, perhaps most importantly, boasts a great driving performance, AutoBlog reports. With so many great amenities, it can be easy to overlook the easy level of vehicle maintenance offered, but that added bonus is something many female drivers will appreciate.

"The new Fiesta has raised the bar to offer a sharper-looking, better-connected car that is even more fuel efficient and fun to drive," said Barb Samardzich, Ford's vice president of product development. "By tuning into the needs of all our customers, we are ensuring this small car with the big history has a very bright future."

The vehicle beat out rivals like the Mazda CX-5, Range Rover and Porsche Boxster S, each of which won its individual category and was competing for the top overall prize.
