Fiat 500e designed by Hugh Jackman sold in charity auction

Hugh Jackman designed a special Fiat 500e for a charity auction, and the winning bid brought in $50,000 for the foundation. At the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Jackman's Fiat kicked off the "Into the Green" charity auction during the Motion Picture and Television Fund's special benefit concert, also hosted by the "Wolverine" star. There are nine more custom car designs up for bid, personalized by other big names like Anne Hathaway, Snoop Dogg, Jennifer Lawrence and Clint Eastwood. All are up for auction on eBay to benefit the MPTF, and each vehicle has the celebrity's signature etched into the glove box.

Those looking to get their hands on the Fiat 500e may find it difficult in the U.S. The only region where the sleek electric speedster is available in the U.S. is California, meaning this auction may be the only chance for some itching to get behind the wheel anytime soon.

Although, according to contest rules, the winning bidders must pick up their new Fiat in Costa Mesa, Calif. - so it's still a long trip for some. But what better way to break in a new car than a trip through California, winding up the beautiful Pacific coast? Before taking their new vehicle too far, new owners should be advised to make sure the Fiat 500e has had proper vehicle maintenance to get the most out of their ride home.
