Drivers with families have different needs when choosing a vehicle than other buyers, and it is important that they look at cars made to suit their lifestyle. Kelley Blue Book recently released its 10 Best Family Cars of 2012 list, which highlights the vehicles that fit this mold.

"After driving and evaluating nearly all of the new cars available on the market today, we identified the vehicles that offer the greatest combination of features and value for everyday families," said Jack Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book. "Parents will be able to cross-off 'find a new car' on their to-do lists by looking at the choices selected as our 10 Best Family Cars of 2012."

Vehicles on the list included the Toyota Prius V, Honda Odyssey, Ford Flex, Chevrolet Suburban and Kia Sorento, among others. The Volkswagen Passat was named the top overall family car by the news source.

Families that are concerned about safety should be sure that they keep up with the auto maintenance on their vehicle of choice. Regular brake service & repair can ensure that the critical parts are in working order and cut down on the risk of mechanical failure, which could in turn lead to an accident.
