Looking for a used car? Many drivers are, but it can be difficult to balance a budget with concerns about safety and dependability. No one wants to end up with a vehicle that needs extensive car repair or maintenance, and motorists can try to avoid this problem by looking to a recent list from Edmunds.com regarding The Best Used Cars for 2013

"There are a lot of popular cars on this list, and that's not a surprise," said Scott Oldham, editor-in-chief of Edmunds.com. "Wider availability of a particular vehicle almost always translates to more competitive prices and better value for used car shoppers."

Although the list included many different options from a variety of automakers, a few brands stood out for their inclusions. Honda and Toyota each had four vehicles make the list, while Ford was close behind with three editions recognized.

Honda had its 2007 to 2011 Fit models rated as the top subcompact sedan, the 2006 to 2011 Accord as the top coupe option, the 2006 to 2011 CR-V as the No. 1 crossover SUV and the 2006 to 2011 Odyssey as the best used minivan. Additionally, the 2006 to 2011 Toyota Avalon was considered the best large sedan, the Highlander was the top used midsize SUV, the Tacoma was the top compact truck and the Prius was the best hybrid in that time frame as well.
