Several awards naming the top vehicle of 2013 have already been given out, and two of the latest prizes went to the Chevrolet Corvette. The sports car was named the year's best machine by Road & Track as well as Automobile magazine. This was the first-ever "Best Cars" list for Road & Track, with the 2014 Corvette taking the inaugural prize thanks to its speed, ability and sleek looks.

"We selected the Corvette because it represents an incredible achievement: Not only is it wickedly fast, it's now also a delight to drive on the challenging, twisty roads that used to be the car's nemesis," said Larry Webster, editor-in-chief of the publication. "Plus, it's a real bargain and looks fantastic."

In addition to the accolades from Road & Track, the Corvette was also named the Automobile of the Year by Automobile magazine. The magazine praised its powerful engine and light frame, both of which come together to create a vehicle that is capable of handling anything on the roads.

Although the 2014 Corvette may have expensive vehicle maintenance, many drivers will likely think the extra effort is worth it. One look at the sporty exterior and the sound of the engine revving will have many auto fans excited about this model.
