Audi teams up with Star Trek to promote new S7

"Star Trek Into Darkness" is set to be one of the biggest movies of the summer, but before its May 17 premiere rolls around, fans can make do with a new video from Audi. The automaker teamed up with the Star Trek franchise - and two of its biggest stars - to promote the Audi S7. 

In a new web commercial, called "The Challenge," Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock in the Star Trek films, meets up with Leonard Nimoy, who originated the character. The two are engaged in a series of friendly competitions, culminating in a race to a country club, where Quinto's state-of-the-art Audi successfully outmaneuvers Nimoy's Mercedes-Benz. 

The ad, which runs nearly three minutes, also shows off the different qualities of the Audi, all while presenting it in a way that will thrill trekkies and movie fans alike. 

"We wanted to highlight the car in a smart and entertaining way," Audi spokesperson Andrew Lipman told Ad Age. 

Although the Audi S7 may not be able to beam you into outer space, it does come with large storage space, top technologies and plenty of smart features. The luxury vehicle is also designed to provide a wonderful driving experience for motorists, allowing owners to forget about auto repair, maintenance or even problems with the Vulcan race while cruising on the roads.
