The latest Marvel Studios feature film, The Avengers will be premiering nationally in a few short weeks, and aside from the special effects and superhero action the movie has to offer, the cars used in the flick are eye-catching as well. In fact, Robert Downey Jr. arrived at the Los Angeles premiere last week in the Acura NSX concept designed specifically with Tony Stark (Iron Man) in mind. The other superheroes showed up to the red carpet event in Acuras as well.

A less star-studded NSX concept car, which is an overhaul of the NSX sports car that was discontinued in 2005, has been making the rounds at all of the North American car shows. Most recently the vehicle was on display in New York, alongside the specially-designed S.H.I.E.L.D. Acura MDX.

The sporty NSX may not be a convertible like the Avengers vehicle, but it does have the same design and features, such as the rear side-mounted dual exhaust, low-profile exterior lights and sleek design. The concept is equipped with a V6 hybrid engine capable of generating as much as 400 horsepower. The car is set to go into production as early as 2015, so those willing to wait for the sports car to be available should be sure to keep their rides running with regular car maintenance and address auto repairs as they crop up.
