A free iPad with every Cadillac XTS

Cadillac has announced all buyers of the upcoming 2013 XTS will receive a free iPad with their purchase, reports Wired.

While the iPad will likely help drive sales on its own, it's not solely intended to be a thank you gift. Cadillac is customizing the iPads with a simulation of the car's new Cadillac User Experience (CUE), the infotainment system included in its center console. This way, drivers can learn about all the features of the CUE on their iPad so they can take full advantage of it.

"We want to be the leader in customer experience," Mark Harland, Cadillac's director of customer experience, told the news source. "We need to think about helping [owners] with the learning curve. Even if you get a walk-through at the dealership, you’re going to forget about a lot of the features. And we want the customer to learn about CUE on their own time."

Beyond the new CUE, the device will also come pre-loaded with the OnStar and MyCadillac apps, which offer additional functionality integrated with the car. Whether it's unlocking the doors remotely or getting alerts about upcoming scheduled maintenance, the new advancements in the Cadillac XTS will likely win over plenty of tech-obsessed customers looking for a luxury vehicle.
