Tesla tops consumer satisfaction ratings

Millions of people across the U.S. turn to Consumer Reports for guidance when it comes to making purchases. That even extends to automobiles, so it's a good thing the review agency recently set out to find which automakers had the most satisfied customers. The annual survey examined which makes and models led to the happiest drivers.

Owners of the Tesla Model S were found to be the most satisfied with their car purchase. In fact, the vehicle had one of the highest scores Consumer Reports ever collected: 99 out of 100. That matches the 99 out of 100 the model earned in the performance tests from the company, as well.

"In testing, the Model S stands out for its innovative design, outstanding performance and surprising practicality," said Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing for Consumer Reports. "These results suggest Tesla owners are very, very satisfied."

Following the Model S was the Porsche Boxster, the Audi A6 and the Mazda6. Those luxury vehicles were joined by the Subaru Forester and the diesel-powered Volkswagen Golf TDI. Each of the models boasted extreme comfort and sleek looks, but they also have excellent functionality. Vehicle maintenance isn't an issue with many of these cars, either, as they are known for being reliable options.
