Celebrity vehicles can sometimes climb to extraordinary prices when they go up for auction, and it's safe to say that the bidding on a particular 1967 Chevrolet Corvette has gone through the stratosphere. This vintage vehicle supposedly once belonged to Neil Armstrong, famed astronaut and the first man on the moon. According to Autoblog, a '67 Corvette in similar condition to the one up on eBay right now goes for about $30,000. However, buyers are clearly enamored by the car's connection to Armstrong, as the price has shot up to $250,000.Curiously, the seller's "reserve price" on the vehicle has still not been met with approximately two days left in the auction. That means if the auction ended right now, the seller would have the right to back out of the deal - and likely would, since they wouldn't have gotten what they hoped to receive.Drivers purchasing a used car of any kind should be sure to have the automobile checked out by a vehicle maintenance expert. Even if the car is simply going to sit in a garage, a model that doesn't need any major auto repairs is of much higher value than one with significant issues.
