"Transformers: Dark of the Moon," the third entry in the series, is set to hit theaters on June 29th. So what types of cars can film fans expect when they go see it?Many of the fan favorites from previous entries in the series will be making a return. The "Autobots," led by Optimus Prime, seem to favor General Motors vehicles. For example, Bumblebee transforms into a fifth-generation bright yellow Chevrolet Camaro. Ironside's ride of choice is a GMC Ironhide pickup truck, and Ratchet is a Hummer H2. Perhaps the coolest is Sideswipe, a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray that has been updated to a convertible for the third film. The new movie will also feature a trio of robots that transform into NASCAR models.Other brands will also be making an appearance. One new character that's sure to make an impact is Dino, a Ferrari 458 Italia. It seems like a no-brainer to include a Ferrari in a movie about cars, but it appears they've just now gotten around to including the exotic sports car. Mercedes-Benz also has a presence in the movie. The evil robot Soundwave is an SLS AMG, while the good robot Que is an E550.Transformers isn't likely to win any Oscars for acting or writing, but the cars have never failed to disappoint, and it looks like that will continue with the third film in the series.
