The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California, recently got a $100 million donation to make sure it continues to be the most important auto-related attraction in the country, reports MotorTrend.According to the news source, Margie Peterson donated the cash, who has already made several multi-million dollar gifts to the museum."I am thrilled to make this gift which continues what Mr. Petersen and I began two decades ago," said Mrs. Petersen. “I am so happy that this day has come and that I can launch the Museum into a new era of growth and expansion."MotorTrend suggests the money will be used to make the museum's facade more exciting and noticeable. Currently, the attraction sits on the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue on LA's Miracle Mile, but it is overshadowed by the city's more famous museum - the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).Exhibits at the Petersen include a Ford Focus ST that was once shown on the Jay Leno Show.Mrs. Petersen added that she hopes the donation will help the museum continue to expand its collections.
