The Hispanic Motor Press Association (HMPA) recently announced the winners of its annual Top 10 Cars of the Year Awards, and the 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid was among the ranks. The judges chose the winning vehicles based on safety, quality, style, performance and environmental impact."Kia has undergone a dramatic brand transformation over the past three years, including the addition of our first-ever hybrid model in the U.S., and the Hispanic Motor Press Association's recognition of the Optima Hybrid is further evidence of Kia's unprecedented growth in the market," said Michael Sprague, the vice president of marketing and communications for Kia Motors America. "More and more consumers are looking at Kia for the first time, and Optima Hybrid's 'Top 10 Cars of the Year' designation demonstrates how Kia is reaching new audiences."The car offers an impressive fuel economy of about 40 miles per gallon on the highway, and it is chock-full of infotainment and safety technology. Left Lane News reports that some of the safety features include a Brake Assist System, antilock brakes and a tire pressure monitoring system.
