Kelly Blue Book (KBB) has announced its list for the "Top 10 Green Cars," reports MSN Autos, based on fuel efficiency and eco-friendly technologies. In addition, the cars were also based on its "safety, creature comforts and driving enjoyment," states the news source.Taking the number one spot is the Nissan Leaf, which KBB says is "the first all-electric car for the masses." It reportedly has a fuel-efficiency equivalent of a 99 mpg car. In a close second place, the Chevy Volt is a "tasteful vision of the future - inside and out," according to the auto experts. The original green car, the Toyota Prius, came in third place thanks to its regular-vehicle handling and driveability. Great for luxury shoppers, the Lexus CT200h (number four on the list) is a stylish hatchback with a 42 mpg combined fuel economy rating.Coming in at number five is the Honda Insight, considered the budget-friendly hybrid option, according to MSN Autos, thanks to its $18,950 price tag.Rounding out the bottom five were (in descending order): Ford Fusion Hybrid, Volkswagen Golf TDI, Hyundai Elantra, Fiat 500 and Ford Focus.Notable inclusions were the Fiat and Ford Focus as they're not actually considered hybrids, but just have great fuel efficiency.
