Hyundai is on top for brand loyalty for the second consecutive quarter

10/17/2011

In today's society, many car consumers are careful about their purchases. While some people are making sure all of their auto maintenance is up-to-date to keep their vehicle running longer, others are looking to brands that they know have high standards when it comes to providing a quality car.

Kelley Blue Book recently announced that for the second consecutive quarter, Hyundai is the top brand in terms of loyalty. For the third quarter of 2011, Hyundai had a brand loyalty score of 48 percent. However, Toyota was inching in as a close second with 47.9 percent.

Analysts are suggesting that the attention on Hyundai could be due to consumers preparing for upcoming bad weather.

"The latter half of the year tends to draw interest toward sport utility, crossover and other large vehicles due to weather conditions and seasonality," said Arthur Henry, market intelligence manager for Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com. "Since Hyundai's flagship vehicles are its compact and mid-size sedans, it is natural that it suffers in this regard."

Of course, bad weather can be hazardous to any kind of vehicle, which is why it's important that drivers frequently check brakes to make sure they're prepared for what Mother Nature has in store.
