Located on the border of Montana and Canada, Glacier National Park is one of the most stunning nature reserves in the entire country, as it offers truly spectacular views of mountains, valleys, lakes and glaciers. Perhaps even better, you don't need to hike for miles and miles to experience it - the famous "Going-to-the-Sun Road" cuts through the best parts of the park and allows drivers to take everything in from behind the wheel. The road gets its name because it frequently winds upwards into the hills and mountains of the park, and at times you may feel like you're driving into the sky itself. Perhaps nowhere is that more evident than Logan Pass, which rises nearly 6,500 feet above sea level. Of course, this obviously means it's one of the more remarkable views in the entire park and perhaps the country.Drivers should know that there are vehicles known as "Red Jammers" which will take them throughout the park if they don't feel like driving themselves, and this can be a smart idea to help prevent vehicle wear and tear. Nobody wants to blow out one of their tires while heading up to Logan Pass, so it can be relaxing to just let the professionals handle things on this windy road. If you do decide to drive yourself, be sure to get a vehicle inspection and tune up beforehand.
