Nissan is reaching out to its fans on Facebook in order to build a modified version of the 370Z that will be shown at the company's events.Through a series of polls and questions, Nissan is gathering fan input on just about every aspect of the car's design. The standard 370Z is already set in stone, but this special version of the car will include aftermarket modifications chosen by the fans online."Car companies build project vehicles all the time, but we thought it'd be interesting to harness the power of social media to reach out to Z enthusiasts - the people who are doing this to their own cars everyday," said Jon Brancheau, vice president of Nissan Marketing in North America. The car, dubbed "Project 370Z," will not be sold in stores. However, it will be making an appearance at several major Nissan events, including "ZDayZ," the annual gathering for 370Z enthusiasts.Modifications may void the manufacturer's warranty, but those who like to tweak their cars don't have to be left out in the cold when it comes to auto maintenance and car repairs. While the dealership may not work on a modified vehicle, third-party mechanics can keep the car running right.
