Chevrolet has announced that it will be launching a new edition of its best-selling Camaro in conjunction with the recent blockbuster "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."The Camaro famously has a pretty big role in the film, as the shape-shifting good-guy robot Bumblebee. In car form, Bumblebee (a yellow-and-black Camaro, naturally) is the main ride of protagonist Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf). Now, fans of the franchise will be able to purchase a very similar vehicle in the form of the 2012 Transformers Special Edition, USA Today reports. This edition boasts a wide range of cosmetic upgrades, including the special paint job seen in the film, Transformers stitching on all the headrests and floormats, special badging and a unique rear spoiler. The package is available at a $3,000 premium on the Camaro 2LT and 2SS trim levels."The Transformers franchise has helped introduce Camaro - and Chevrolet - to a whole new generation of fans," said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. "Its role in the films helped make the Camaro the best-selling sports car in America, and one of the best-known cars of any kind around the world."While it does come with a bevy of features, it reportedly does not transform into a giant robot. Bummer.
