Luxury SUVs have to carefully toe the line between style and durability, comfort and purpose. Because this can be difficult, Kelley Blue Book has compiled a list of the 10 Best Luxury SUVs of 2013 to help drivers select the very best cars on the market.
Topping the list of luxury SUVs was the Land Rover Range Rover. Advanced styling and off-road capabilities catapulted the car to the front of the pack, and it was also helped along by the lighter weight of the 2013 model - something that should help improve mileage and vehicle maintenance. The Detroit Free Press reports that other amenities, such as a large amount of cargo space, comfortable ride, voice recognition tools and touch-screen system, also helped to separate the Range Rover from its competitors.
"For decades the Range Rover has prowled to the ends of the Earth, growing more luxurious with each generation," said Jack R. Nerad, the executive editorial director for Kelley Blue Book. "Combining opulent amenities with extreme capability, the all-new-for-2013 version is the best Range Rover yet."
Following that vehicle was the Mercedes-Benz GL at No. 2, with the Porsche Cayenne, Lexus RX and Infiniti JX rounding out of the top five.
