Kate Hudson was spotted picking up her son, Ryder Russell Robinson, from school last week in a black Toyota Prius, reports Celebrity Cars Blog.

The actress, who has starred in films such as "Almost Famous," "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" and 'Nine,' is also reportedly pregnant with her second child, meaning she might need to get a new car, suggests the celebrity blog.

The Toyota Prius is a hybrid electric mid-size vehicle, meaning the car uses both gasoline and electricity to power the automobile.

"It's environmental, innovative, and practical," says Bob Carter, of the third generation model. Carter is the group vice president and general manager of Toyota Division. "It's an everyday car for everyday use, attract buyers who are looking for innovative technology with a hybrid powertrain."

EPA gives the vehicle a combined city/highway 50 miles per gallon rating, one of the best designated in 2010 by the environmental agency.

The Celebrity Cars Blog suggests Kate Hudson get a Porsche Cayenne hybrid to give her ever-growing family more space. The Cayenne has five-seats, like the Prius, but has a hatchback trunk for more luggage, groceries, etc.
