The International Car of the Year (ICOTY) jury has announced its choice for the 2011 Luxury Car - the Jaguar XJ, for its innovative design and excellent performance.

Jaguar's XJ model has a base price of $72,700, and has already received a number of honors since its début in May of 2010.

"We're delighted that the 2011 Jaguar XJ has received this honor," said Adrian Hallmark, the global brand director at Jaguar. "The all-new XJ is a benchmark in both design and technology, and we're thrilled to receive such an accolade from one of the highest international panel of judges in our industry."

The car has a 5.0-liter V8 engine with 385 horsepower and 380 ft-lbs of torque.

Other awards given to the Jaguar XJ include Executive Sedan of the Year by Bloomberg, Top Gear's Luxury Car of the Year, Popular Science's Best of What's New for 2010 (automotive category) and AUTOMOBILE Magazine's Design of the Year honor.
